LEAM Drilling Systems, Inc. was formed in 1980 with its initial base of operations in New Iberia, Louisiana. In 1986 LEAM expanded its directional services to the Permian Basin by acquiring Directional Investment Guidance, Inc., a directional drilling company located in Midland, Texas. In 1990, LEAM opened an office in Houston, Texas, and began providing horizontal drilling services. LEAM later expanded operations by opening offices in 1997 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In 2001, LEAM entered into the MWD market by acquiring MWD Management, Inc. In 2009, LEAM opened sales offices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Denver, Colorado, and in 2010, LEAM opened operational offices in Morgantown, West Virginia and Dickinson, North Dakota. Both facilities serve as full service motor facilities and level I MWD facilities.

LEAM has established a reputation for technical expertise in well planning and the implementation of directional and horizontal drilling programs. Throughout any assignment, constant communication is maintained between our management team, our customers and our field supervisors.

Since 1980, we have expanded our directional and horizontal services to include a complete line of positive displacement downhole mud motors, positive pulse and EM MWD with Gamma, and all necessary directional drilling tools needed to complete your drilling assignment.

LEAM is a privately held corporation, whose top management team boasts well over 100 years of directional drilling experience. Our record has outperformed the competition and has allowed LEAM to become a major player in the drilling industry while maintaining the ability to provide personal and individualized service on each and every well.

LEAM believes the key to success lies in the people we employ, expert communicative field personnel and reliable equipment. Our unique culture, technical ability and management practices have resulted in controlled growth and minimal employee turnover.
